So, this morning I woke up at 5 AM. I went and ran with the local running club. It was raining, but not bad. I forgot how much I love to run in the rain. I ran for about 45 minutes. I'm not sure of the distance, though. But, it felt good. Most normal people shield themselves from the rain with an umbrella, but not me. Instead, this morning I frolicked in the rain like an 8 year old. I wore my Nike running hat to keep the rain out of my eyes. When I was done, I was soaked. My shoes were squishy, and they made noise with each step. It was awesome!
I definitely got my running legs back. Thank God!

hello 4 foot 10 inch asthmatic hispanic momma living in japan....i have never written a comment and i think that you kind of have to remain anonymous or so i was told...you see i am from the old school, i mean old old school...well here i am writing without capital letters, punctuation and bad grammar so kind of overlook that, okay? i will let you wonder who i am....ha!! i was patiently waiting for son to give me your email address but after this ike scare i figured sometimes you have no time to wait in life and just have to adventure on your own....i want to congratulate you on your interesting and very amusing life you are leading in japan but most of all the creativity with which you write but then i guess being an english teacher helps....i was very happy to see your picture after sooooo many years and allow me to say that you have matured into pretty woman but in my mind you still remain the same sweet person i had the pleasure of meeting...i loved your loud laughter and sense of humor then and from reading your blog it seems you have not changed that...congratulations on your husband but most of all on your beautiful son which i hope to meet one day when you come back this way. well i gotta go now, i have no electrictiy, ice is melting in the ice chest...i have to give this laptop back to children before the battery runs out...i think!!!
i will sign off as smurfette, if you know what i mean....wink, wink!!
Hmmmmm... Smurfette, huh?? I think you are Azul's mom, but I'm not sure. Who ever you are, thanks for the kind words!! Yep, I'm still the same loud mouthed midget who says things that should probably be censored. I'm glad you enjoy my blog-- after all, that's it's purpose. I created it so people could laugh at me and my silly adventures here in the land of the rising sun. Keep reading and thanks for your comment...Smurfette!
By the way, let me know if you are Azul's mom. Thanks!

p.s. good things come in small packages...I am just a couple of inches than you or at least used to be!!!
Awesome! It is so good to hear from you! Tell all of the kiddos I said hello or rather...Konichiwa! Wow! Sounds like the family is doing great! I bet you are so proud of them! I always knew those kiddos would do great things! I can't believe y'all are getting ready to retire soon. Boy, time flies! My parents retired a few year ago. They now live in Rockport near Corpus Christi. My dad goes fishing almost everyday and my mom shops for stuff for Jude. Jude is their only grandchild, so they spoil him beyond belief. I'll tell them we chatted. I'm sure they would love to hear about your family. Do y'all still live on the East Side? How are things there now since Ike?? Do you have power, water, food???
