The Next Michael Phelps???

Okay, so Jude loves to "swim," especially in the bath tub. So, we thought he was ready for big boy swim lessons without me. We have taken a Mommy & Me swim lesson together every summer since the kid was born. But, when we got to Japan, we stopped taking lessons. So, Jude expressed interest in learning to swim again. I thought it would be a good idea to enroll him in swim lessons at our local indoor pool. He took half-ass swim lessons at school this summer. But, they are very lenient at school. If the kids didn't want to get into the pool, they didn't have to. Needless to say, our kid went swimming at every opportunity, but he didn't really learn much. So, we enrolled him this month.

(He went under water several times, but I don't want to post naked pictures of my kid on the Internet....I think there are child porn laws regarding that. Anywho, he can go completely underwater, kick, and move his arms like he's really swimming. He makes a complete mess in the bathroom, though. Water goes every where, but we don't discourage him. I can remember when I used to "swim" in the bathtub, too. )
(Here is Jude at his first "Big Boy" swim lesson. He absolutely loved it! He has a hard time understanding his Japanese teacher, but he just follows the other kids.)

Jude loves swimming so much! The other day we got to swim lessons a bit early, and the kid cried because he just couldn't wait to get into the pool. He was so excited to go swimming. Every day he asks me if he has swimming lessons or not. (He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.) If it's not a swimming day, he gets bummed out. If it were up to him, he would go to swimming lessons every day.
