They've got it wrong!

So, I love Japan and all things Japanese. Yada, yada, yada! But there are certain things I just don't get! For example, Japanese people love to eat out, just like Americans do. However, at certain restaurants, when you go out to eat, you have to cook your own food. I just don't get it! When I go out to eat, I don't want to cook my food. I want someone to cook it for me! Duh! Isn't that the point of going OUT to eat??!! But, here in Japan, when you go to a Yakiniku restaurant or Shabu Shabu restaurant, you have to cook your own food. What up wit dat?

Here is a typical meal at a Shabu Shabu restaurant. You get thinly sliced meat and veggies. You boil the meat and veggies in little pots of boiling water. The water boils on hot plates at your table.
Here is a typical meal at a Yakiniku restaurant. Usually your table will have a hole in the center of it. Inside the hole is a small, gas grill. Meat and veggies are brought to your table, and you have to cook your food.

I just don't get it!

Amen to that! Sometimes the Japanese try to be like Americans and they just get it wrong! Here is a perfectly good example!
