Upgrade!
So, we roughed it the first night at the hostel. Then, for the second night, momma got an upgrade! We had a difficult time finding a hotel room. So, when we found a vacancy at the resort, we jumped on it. It was a lovely resort with great amenities and an awesome pool. The resort workers were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. It was about $239 per night, but totally worth it.

Singapore for $50 a night
Alpha Mom found this place on the Internet. I wasn't too sure about staying at a hostel, but I said 'what the hell, why not'?! The place was great for the price. The only issue we had was the cleanliness of the place. It was run by men, and you could tell. It was clean according to 'Man Standards', but not clean enough for stay-at-home-mommy standards! The floor in the room was dirty, there were ants on the dresser, and there were dust bunnies everywhere. The restroom/shower could have also used a spaying of Tilex Mildew Remover. It was a bit icky for my taste but overall a good value. And, if you have a penis, then you probably wouldn't have noticed the dirt and grime. I recommend this place because it's cheap, but make sure you wash your hands and sanitize yourself when you leave!
(We only stayed here one night. Since I'm a bit old for a hostel, and I like my creature comforts, we stayed at a resort for the remainder of the trip.)

(I took more cool pictures in the cockpit. But, for security reasons I will not post them on my blog.)
So, on the way to Singapore, a few people were lucky enough to go into the cockpit and hang out with the pilots. I was one of the lucky few. I simply asked if Alpha Mom and I could see the cockpit, and the flight attendant said sure. The pilots were really nice and allowed us to take a few pictures. It was warm in the cockpit and very bright. I never realized just how much sun the pilots get while flying. I had never been in the cockpit before, so I was enthusiastic and curious about everything. We chatted and I asked a bunch of ridiculous questions. They seemed slightly amused by me and my silly antics. We spent about an hour in the cockpit chatting with the nice gentlemen. The were very professional. And, I was surprised by just how little the pilots do while flying. The plane was on auto pilot the whole time we were in the cockpit. I thanked the pilots for letting me into their world, and then we went and sat in our seats for the remainder of the flight.
During our time in the cockpit, I kept thinking 'This is so freakin' cool...Husband and Jude will be so jealous....this is so awesome and I am so lucky!'

Late for Singapore...
"Hello," she said in a drowsy hoarse voice.
"It's 4 o'clock," I said.
"Oh shit, the alarm never went off," she said as she awoke from her sleepy haze.
"What now?" I asked as I was trying to refrain from yelling obscenities at her into the phone.
"I'll meet you at the airport," she said.
I hung up the phone, grabbed the keys and drove to the airport cursing Alpha Mom all the way there. 'Looks like I'm taking vacation by myself,' I thought to myself as I arrived at the airport alone.
I checked in at the airport and waited. I had made it to the airport just in the nick of time...I only had about 10 minutes to spare. As I reconsidered going on vacation alone, Alpha Mom showed up. She looked like shit and was very apologetic. She said her husband had forgotten to set the alarm clock. I wanted to say 'What the hell...why can't you set your own fucking alarm clock and wake your own ass up and be where you said you were going to be on time?' I wanted to give her my speech about being accountable for one's actions, but I was afraid I might choke her while giving the speech and then be arrested at the airport for assault. So, instead I bit my tongue.
We loaded the plane and every thing else went perfectly. Accept for this slight mishap, our vacation together was great. We spent time chatting and getting to know one another on a deeper level. We have more in common than we had imagined, and we are more alike than we ever thought. We had so much fun together that I can't wait to take another vacations with her!
